The Bushmaster ACR (Adaptive Combat Rifle) represents a leap forward in modern, modular firearm platforms. Designed to combine the best features of the M16, SCAR, and G36 into a single weapon system, the ACR is celebrated for its ambidextrous controls, short-stroke gas piston operation, and tool-less quick-change barrel system. The “Enhanced” version of the ACR takes this platform a step further, upgrading the standard polymer handguard and fixed stock to an aluminum railed handguard and a highly adaptable folding/collapsible stock. Acquiring a factory original parts kit in Flat Dark Earth (FDE) offers builders and collectors the premium components needed to maintain, upgrade, or complete an ACR project with factory-correct parts.

Typical Kit Components

Because the upper receiver is the serialized firearm on the ACR platform, a standard parts kit typically includes everything except the serialized upper receiver. A complete factory FDE Enhanced parts kit generally includes:

• Barrel Assembly: The 16.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO. It features the proprietary quick-detach locking lever, the adjustable short-stroke gas piston block, and typically comes equipped with an AAC Blackout flash hider.
• Lower Receiver Assembly: The high-impact polymer lower receiver (in factory FDE). This includes the fully ambidextrous fire control group, magazine release, and the unique trigger-guard-mounted bolt catch/release mechanism.
• Enhanced Stock Assembly: The highly sought-after FDE folding and collapsible stock. It features a 6-position length-of-pull adjustment, an adjustable cheek comb for optics alignment, and a rubber buttpad.
• Enhanced Handguard: The FDE aluminum tri-rail handguard. Unlike the basic polymer version, this free-floating rail allows for the solid mounting of lasers, lights, and foregrips.
• Bolt Carrier Group (BCG): The ACR’s proprietary multi-caliber bolt carrier assembly, including the bolt, firing pin, and captive recoil spring system.
